01 — The dose

Everyone says PDRN. Almost nobody says how much.

PDRN is measured in parts per million, and it is the expensive part of the formula — so the number tends to go missing from the label. Here is ours on a scale, next to the figure the most-compared stick prints on its own box.

A good balm. Three times the price for an eighth of the active.

02 — How to use

Three seconds, no mirror.

It is a balm, not a routine. Everything below happens after your usual skincare — or instead of it, on the days that get away from you.

Step 01

Twist up two clicks

Barely any. The balm warms on contact, so a short pass carries further than it looks like it will.

Step 02

Swipe where skin creases

Cheekbones, laugh lines, the corners of the mouth, lips, the tops of the hands. Skip the eyelids.

Step 03

Press it in, or don't

Two taps with a fingertip melt the finish into skin. Left alone over makeup it reads as a wet highlight.

03 — In use

One hand. No mirror. Over makeup, if you like.

The whole list. Not the flattering half.

Every ingredient in the order it appears on the box, at the concentration the manufacturer documented — including the ones a marketing team would bury.

Designation
PDRN Collagen Multi Balm — moisturizing balm stick, 10 g / 0.35 oz
Actives
Sodium DNA (salmon-derived PDRN) 2,000 ppm · hydrolyzed collagen · soluble collagen · squalane · shea butter · tocopheryl acetate
Base
Ester and wax, no water. That is why it needs almost no preservative and will not separate in a hot car.
Not in it
No alcohol denat. No citrus oils. No acids or retinoids, so there is no adjustment period and nothing to schedule around.
The honest bit
It contains mineral oil and beeswax. Mineral oil is a well-tolerated occlusive and it is the reason this glides. Beeswax means it is not vegan. Better you read it here than find it on the box.

Guangdong, China, in an FDA-registered facility certified to ISO 22716. Pretty Coded LLC is the responsible person in the United States.

Sixty days, opened or not.

Skincare only tells you the truth after a few weeks, so a return window that requires an unopened box is not a return window. Use it, twist it all the way up, decide it is not for you — that is what the sixty days are for.

We do not ask for it back. Return shipping on a $24 stick costs more than the stick.

07 — Questions

The ones people actually ask.

What is PDRN in skincare?

PDRN stands for polydeoxyribonucleotide — a chain of DNA fragments, usually purified from salmon. It came out of Korean dermatology clinics, and the topical version brings the ingredient into at-home skincare. On an ingredient list it appears as sodium DNA, and its concentration is measured in parts per million.

How much PDRN is in this stick?

2,000 ppm of sodium DNA, which is 0.2 percent of the formula. The figure comes from the manufacturer's documented composition sheet, and the salmon origin is confirmed in writing by the raw-material supplier in Weihai, Shandong.

Is it really from salmon?

Yes. The sodium DNA is extracted from salmon milt by the ingredient supplier, who has issued a signed origin statement. No fish smell, no fish anything — it is a purified ingredient.

Can I use it around my eyes?

No. The formula contains CI 15850, a colorant that is not approved for the eye area in the United States. On the orbital bone is fine; the eyelid is not.

Will it pill under makeup?

It should not. The balm is anhydrous, so there is no water to conflict with a water-based foundation. Use less than feels right and press it in rather than rubbing.

How long does one stick last?

About three months at once a day. It is 10 g, and each pass uses a fraction of a gram.

Where is it made?

In Guangdong, China, in an FDA-registered facility certified to ISO 22716. Pretty Coded LLC is the responsible person in the United States, which means the safety file and the label are our obligation, not the factory's.

Is it vegan?

No — it contains beeswax. It is cruelty-free, with no animal testing at any stage.
